I've been reading posts for a while and found them to be so helpful and thoughtful. My husband was diagnosed 11/05 and has been on chemo since: FolFuri (Avastin for 8 mos and now Erbitux--3 treatments so far). Colon tumor is situated just below the liver (position name?)with a large liver met 10 cent.+ on rt. lobe and 2 small spots on left love. He's being treated at Sloan-Kettering in whom we have complete trust. Disease has been basically stable (slight 1 cm. growth from colon tumor into lymph node)and 30% shrinkage of colon tumor but no shrinkage in large liver met. Does anyone have experience of when/if liver mets ever shrink if they haven't in 10 months of chemo? Doc is happy with stable disease but we want the shrinkage so surgery for liver mets might be a possibility. Will it ever be if it is this large? Thanks in advance to you all.

I was only a stage III...local mets...so I had no liver involvement. I think the important thing is that you trust your treating docs...and you do...
Fighting the beast can be a long term project, mine took almost 2 years to complete. Just make sure that hubby takes VERY good care of his body...it is being punished alot thru this! My onc said she goes to line 5 sometimes, and there is where the chemo works...everyone is different. I just was lucky to hit it on line one for each cancer I had...
Hugs, Kathi
