Soda chemicals
I always thought it was the carbonation in Coke that cleaned off the penny.
UGH!! DO NOT DRINK THE STUFF. So scary. We lock up cleaning products so our kids can't eat it, but then we put down 2 liters all the time.
Hope you all are doing well. jana

You are so right Jana and that is only one nasty ingredient. There are over 1500 chemicals that the FDA allows in our foods as long as there isn't too much. Things like formaldehyde in our breads so they don't go bad too quickly. Remember your biology classes and that nasty smelling stuff, well it is now in most of our breads unless you buy natural/organic. Real bread should never last over a week unless you freeze it, it's unnatural given the ingredients and that is okay to me.
These chemicals have been added to our foods since the 70s hence one of the reasons for the huge increase in cancer incidence since then. I do not understand how we don't get that. I don't understand why we don't see more studies done on the diets and environments of the countries that have NO incidence of colorectal cancer. I do not think my government gives a rats **** about me or you and think they actually negatively contribute to our health and wellness. It's all about money$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
And unless you live in a cave, you have heard recently how bad the man made sugar and the sugar substitutes in sodas are for us. High fructose corn syrup and aspartame are huge contributors to type II diabetes and the treatening obesity issues in the USA.
Wake up America, our diets are killing us and our children.0 -
Excellent posts Jana and Scouty. To further Scouty's point, check out the following NIH News article about life expectancy rates and obesity:scouty said:You are so right Jana and that is only one nasty ingredient. Also, it was recently reported in a local news broadcast in Los Angeles that scientists are now looking at the how the cumulative effect of the 1500 chemicals that Scouty mentioned as well as other environmental toxins, most of which are fat soluble, may alter human DNA and cause genetic and familial diseases such as cancer.
Thanks for the Twinkies in my Brady Bunch lunch box Mom! Perhaps I should have traded for the chubby kid's apple...who knew?0
