Greetings...
I was dx'd with crc w/liver mets Dec 04. My doctor found 2cm tumor in my sigmoid colon and 3 1cm lesions on my liver. I started with chemo, folfox, for about 8 rounds, had very good results, lesions on my liver disappeared and the tumor on my colon decreased in size by 20%. I then had resection surgery, fortunately the doctor only took about 5 inches of colon. Once I recovered from the surgery I started radiation and finished up my chemo, not a fun time...Several months later I was told I was in remission and to have a good christmas, I did! Feb 06 rolls around I get another ct scan and they find a lesion on my liver. Six weeks later (April 06) I had open liver surgery to cryo the one lesion. Doc thought it was one of the original lesions rearing it's ugly head again. Doctor noted that the rest of my liver looked and felt healthy. I was in and out of the hospital in 5 days and made a quick recovery. That was April and to this date I remain cancer free. My next schedule ct scans are late Oct.
This summer has been great and I am very greatful to my docs and my friends here who answered questions and took the time to say hello...Thank you all...I feel as though I have a new lease on life and I certainly look at things a lot different these days...
For all of you who are new here, there is hope and I'm living proof...
