Hey all...have not posted latley (work has been truly busy with an escaped convict on the loose in the County for the past 5 months...they just caught him on Friday. I had a great summer and am ready for my 44th birhtday, which is days away. For those new here, I am an eight year survivor of stage 3 rectal cancer, diagnosed at the age of 36 almost 8 years ago. I am still getting stronger each year post-cancer, and am running a cross-country race on Saturday. I fought like mad to get my life back, and I won. For those of you just starting this journey, have faith. Modern medicine is advancing every year, and there are more of us surviving this stupid disease than ever before. Live strong, live long, LIVE! I will trust that SpngeBob will provide me with some new lawyer jokes soon..and by the way...I am finally at fighting weight, where do I go to get on the colonder.

Who finally has a flat stomach eight years after surgery! P.S. Who thinks I should get a tattoo to do something with the permanent ink spots I got for purposes of radiation?

Congrats!!! I am a stage IV beginer but it is always great to hear about people going strong!

By the way, I think the tattoo idea is awesome, I had the same thought but I am going to get mine in another location, the spots where they did the radiation dye, especially the one in the middle, hurt so bad I wont let anyone touch that spot again!!!

    Runner!

Dude - whazzup? Good to hear from you. Hey, you seriously wanna do the Colondar? Drop me a note and I will hook you up with Molly - the Queen of the Colondar.

Your post comes at a good time - there are several new folks who can use your inspiration to get them on track. Good news about catching the escapee - what's up with the bumper stickers and community support - for HIM!? UGH. Gotta hate that. Anyway, go get 'em, Runner!

I'll post some more lawyer jokes as soon as I find a few that are in good taste (guess it will be a LONG time before I post one... I don't know why they don't make nice lawyer jokes?) Seriously, you prosecuters do a great service and don't make squat compared to your compadres on the other side of the table. Thank you for what you do, Runner.

Best regards, my friend - drop me a note about the Colondar!

    - Sponge

PS - Happy birthday to my fellow Virgo (I'm a reformed Virgo post-cancer, are you?) and I think now that you're 44, you should get that tattoo - check out the cover of the 2007 Colondar for inspiration. - SB

Welcome back. You are an inspiration to all who are just starting on this journey.

I was also a stage 3, it has been 3 1/2 years since diagnosis. I remember thinking I would never get better. I did, but it did take a while. I am back to my new normal.

Life can go on after cancer treatment.

As always, great to hear from you, Runner. And I'll vote for you for the 2008 Colondar.
