I have svcs do to a blood clot that formed, blocking my port. The port has been removed due to the symptoms of swelling in the chest, neck, and face, but I can't find anything on the web that tells me how long it takes for all of the swelling to subside. Anyone ever had this? My onc said to hold off on bending over very much and exercising. I don't mind not pulling weeds, but after 10 weeks I would like to exercise. When I bend over the blood makes my face and chest turn red. jams

It is a difficult problem, I assume that you are taking anticoagulants. I think the time it takes to clear is between 3-6 months. The body has to form a new channel. It depends upon what type of exercise you want to do. Certainly aerobic type exercise such as brisk walks should be good. Doing upper body strengthening probably would not be good at this time. If your onc is also a hematologist he/she should be able to give you more information.
