My very cool sister!!
She rides for me, my dad, her friends, and all those touched by this most dreaded disease!
She turned me on to the LIVESTRONG song, which I play VERY LOUD in my car every morning. I encourage you to check it out. (The complete song is very moving-gives me goosebumps everytime)

This link will get you to the song. AND 100% of the proceeds go to the Lance Armstrong LIVESTRONG Foundation.
So think of my sister and all the other fantastic people out there( including yourself!) who are working towards conquering this "pimple on the **** of humanity-CANCER"!!!
GO MOOP!!!
Love your extremely proud big sis!

Hi Barb:
You and your sister rock! It's so great that your sis is out there doing what she can to raise awareness! I think the world of the LiveStrong organization and am proudly wearing my yellow.
And, being a fellow biker-chick, I gotta point out a rolickingly good read "Lance's War". It's not about cancer or even so much of Lance, but it's about biking, and all the behind-the-scene stuff at the TdF. I fell out of the chair laughing several time while reading this book.
Best of luck to your sis at the ride. As one of my biker friends always says, may her ascend be fast and descend steady....and just let the pedals to do the work
And if your sis sees Lance, please thank him for me for giving me so much hope.
Again, you girls rock!
Cheers,

OK, so my last big bike ride was a horror story....
Picture idealic, FLAT Holland...EVERYONE rides a bike. So, here I am, atop a bike that either met or beat my age, (it had a light, basket and a bell..hehehe). I passed sheep, cows, and assorted other farm animals ON and BESIDE the path I WAS ON!!!!!
A beautiful afternoon turned to a wonderful evening....it stays light in Holland till 11pm in the summer.
Then BOOM! Darkness FELL!!!!! My feeble light didn't even illuminate the look of terror in my face...my hands hurt, my bottom hurt...I got off my rusty steed and started to walk, my chest heaving....
FINALLY, I made it home...only to get the 'We were worried sick' lecture from my beau's parents...I looked at them, and threw HIM to the wolves (he IS from there, after all) saying 'I did not know how FAR we had gone, it's in kilometers...sob'....turns out it was the equavalent of 20 US MILES!!!!!!!
Hugs, and good vibes to sis!

Greetings from Barb's cool Colorado sister ; )
Today I did the 40 mile ride as part of the Denver "Livestrong Challenge". It was a pretty inspiring day to see all those people (at least 1500 I think I heard) out there supporting this cause. Survivors and friends and family together.
I believe that $1.2Million was raised during the Denver Challenge!
My dedication tag worn on my jersey said: "In Honor of: My sister Barb and all her semi-colon buddies."
Thank you to all of you (and you too Barb) for the wonderful comments on this thread. And thank you to the Semi-colons for being a great support system for my sister.
Peace and LiveStrong!
Oh by the way...Lance was NOT there, much to my disappointment---but Davis Phinney (a former pro cyclist) was there and made some great comments about us all being like Lance in being out there and supporting the cause.
