Thank you dbqueen for your info about Xeloda. I had stage 2 breast cancer in 2000 and it popped up in my bones (spine and hip) in 2005. I've been on Herceptin and had some radiation on three spots but my Med Onc doesn't want me to Radiate anymore ...at least for a while. Since I work and I think I am still realatively young (48) my Onc prescribed Xeloda. He said it would be easier on my lifestyle. I am a "chunky" girl so I am on a rather high dose .... 5000 MG per day (10 pills). He said dosage is based on surface space (that was a new one on me) ...and I'm almost 2 meters. The other funny thing he said is that I "won't" be able to tolerate it and he'll then back down the dosage. So ... I started Monday 8/7 ... I have been sleeping like a baby, no bowel issues and just last night started to have ever so slight tingling in my feet, hands, and lips! The only other thing I notice so far is when I'm still ... laying in bed ...my insides feel a little weird ...don't know how to describe it ...I'm sure it's not, but it's almost like I can feel my blood moving. Okay ...weird. Overall I am causiously optimistic. I didn't want to take any Chemo because in 2000 I took Adriamycin, Cytoxin and taxotere and I felt like I was 100 years old. It took a long time to feel better again .... but I couldn't get past it and my Onc doesn't want to have anything get out of control. I will be very curious to hear what kind of side effects you have and how well it is working for you. Thanks again for your reply! Jamie

Sorry, wasn't on for a while! Glad the info helped. I take 4 pills a day. Didn't think they did as many as 10 anymore no matter what your size! My doc said they found that they just didn't need that many pills. So if you get unpleasant side effects I wouldn't hesitate to have him cut you back. So far, I just have some mild diarhhea. Had to take a break from it as I managed to get bronchitis. Good luck!0
