I wanted to thank everyone for their support and quick responses to the problems my mom was having. We went to a third nurse, who took one look at my mom and said, "whoa, you have a yeast infection in your wound and on your skin. we need to get you some powder right away." the nystatin powder almost worked overnight (not right away, of course, but after about 5 hours of having the powder on the area). That next day, we got the illeostomy bag to stick for 2 whole days (55 hours to be exact). So, thanks to everyone who had such great suggestions. People like me and my mom are really lucky to have this website available to anyone who needs it!! Thanks again!

I am glad that the nurse was able to help. My stoma nurse has been invaluable during this ordeal.
