I have the grim task of selling my husbands music equipment that he loved so dearly to try and pay for the funeral. I sold one pieces to what I thought was a friend of my husbands had a set price he called me to jew me lower even after I told him what the money was far. Now I have found the receipt where my husband bought this and he paid 500.00 more for it in 10.05 than I got for it, I told this friend and now he wants the receipt to get the warranty what an a??. I hope it don't work when he uses it. Why does a love one leave all the unfinished details to the spouce to have to worry with. I know he did not do this on purpose. I just need to vent my anger and this was about the only place that hardly anyone reads. And who really cares about other peoples problems anyway. Loney, Mad and just p???ed off.

Hey Deb! I'm sorry to hear about your "so called" friend ripping you off. It's hard to believe at such a grievious time in your life there are people that will take advantage of you! I can guarantee you this guy will in some other way get his just desserts!! You reap what you sew.
May you gain some peace in this trying time of yours!

Hey Deb - I hear you loud and clear. I was my oldest brother's caretaker before he died (liver cancer) and he had also made me his sole beneficiary (of an 'estate' worth about $1000!). Even worse than having a friend rip you off - the morning my brother died (with my at his side, holding his hand), my sister called asking for the keys to his house so she and her daughter could start 'cleaning it out'. In the end she and her daughter did 'clean it out'! I guess I wouldn't have cared so much after the fact, but while he was dying they couldn't take the time to spend time with him - it was like he had Ebola or something! The youngest of our three brothers had died 10 months before my oldest brother died (also of cancer - AML) and she treated him like he was some plague carrier too. I'm a survivor of cancer (kidney/breast/lung) and I can say that it's a whole lot easier being a survivor than a caregiver!
