Swollen cheek

My mother was diagnosed with NHL almost three years ago. She has been doing pretty well but now suddenly she has this swollen cheek and I am so worried that it is cancer. She is on pain meds and cant chew. Her Oncologist doesnt feel this is Lymphoma. My question is...Can cancer come back in another form? I am pretty scared about this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
