Hi y'all!!!!!!!!!Now did that sound Texan? For our first EVER flight on a plane I must say that it was interesting. Jen was not very happy taking off!Me????with a need for speed I loved it. Jen was fine once in the air...but then the landings had her on edge a little. Our luck was not with us tho...so many delays...we almost missed our connection out of Sydney! We then had many frustrating moments in LAX and thought we miss our Denver connection too.So our first intro to flying was not a good event!Moesimo said:Have a great time. We want to hear all the stories.

It is a VERY long trip taking almost 24 hours...really too long for the both of us.(Jen is still asleep!)Kerry, Merriman and Kay met us at the airport in Austin. The flight from Denver was also delayed so they were a little worried when we were not among the first passengers to emerge from the security lounge.Jen and I were last to get to rhe baggage area(we were not coping too well and needed a bathroom stop)As we came down the escalator we were greeted by Kerry, Merriman and Kay...all smiling and with cameras at the ready. Many huggs and kisses all round...oh..such a relief to get here and so much joy, emotion too to finally meet our dear friends!I did not sleep well last night but with some rest today I will recover. I will let Jen sleep for a spell. How does one put into words how humbled we feel to have such a warm welcome? I will "try" to put that into words as we tell you about our stay later. We wish we could meet all of you....love, sincerely, Ross and Jen0 -
...sounds like the making of a good bar joke! lol....scouty said:The Y'all lessons will commence Tuesday afternoon in the car as 2 Aussies, 2 Canucks, and one southern girl drive to Port Ouranus (my pronunciations of Aransus) on the Gulf of Mexico.

Sue....weather great...around 85F+. Don't worry 'bout the takeoffs Sue. The awesome power and noise is a little unsettling...just close your eyes and try to relax.Landings are a breeze...just a few g-forces when they start breaking and putting the engines in reverse thrust.
Day 2; another no sleep night for me but feel better at the moment.
am. Today we enjoyed a tour of Austin with a trip to Lake Travis where the scenery is wonderfull. Lunched on nachos, s/d salad and some hot spicy sauces...I think I ate an enchalada(sic?). Merriman suggested that....HOT! Kerry thought margaritas would be nice for Jen and I...mmmmm...not bad.
pm; Merriman and I "stole" Kerry's sports car and he drove me to see some more sights(his idea of sights is not flora and fauna...lol!) On our return we found Jen in the pool...Kerry declined the swim as she was preparing dinner. Our evening was very relaxed as Kerry's mum and dad came to visit and meet the ozzies. I think they will see us again..in OZ! Early start tomorrow morning..off to Port Aransus.
Time I should sleep...luv to yas, Ross n Jen0 -
ooops! correction, we are off to San Antonio to see the Alamo! If all goes to plan we will also drop in and meet Debralla...now that would be a highlight of the day!The day will get even better when we collect Scouty from the airport tomorrow night!
