Eye lashes

Hi Astrid,
First of all, congratulations and thank you for taking part in a clinical trial. I did too and really don't think people realize how brave of us it is to do that.
My eyelashes took ages to grow back. I finished chemo at the beginning of December, and only got eyelashes about a month ago. I think they have finally grown back to normal. I cried when I saw how my hair was so different, but I love my new eyelashes. They are longer and thicker than they were before. My blond hair came back dark and quite gray.
Hugs.

Hi LesleyH. I'm a 2yr survior April 5th, My hair also grew back different. I went from straight, Auburn colored hair to curly, dark hair with tons of gray. Before I had cancer, I never colored my hair. Now I change it all the time! Your might want to think about it. Made me feel better!LesleyH said:Hi Astrid,

I just STARTED losing my eye hair (lashes, brows), and I've been through more chemo than you can shake a stick at...NEVER before lost my eye stuff...sigh....
I finished last Taxol 3 weeks ago. My head hair is slowly growing back, I think that all my body hair has decided to wait and see WHAT ELSE I'm going to throw at it, before it really starts to grow back (hehehehe).
Seriously, I was devastated, too, BUT, like all else that has happened...compare...lose my hair/lose my life....hummmmmm, what a choice!!!
Hugs,

I didn't loose my eyelashes until after I had finished my taxol treatments. I found it very strange that even though I had finished treatment I kept loosing my eye lashes and eye brows. But they do come back. I think it was about 2 months before after I lost mine that they were back enough to use mascara. But the good news is that they do come back.. It just takes longer than you would like.
Take Care.... God Bless...0 -
Thanks for your replies. I guess I just need to wait and the lashes will quit falling out and start coming back. It has been six weeks since my last chemo and still no hair growth. I guess I am impatient because my step son is getting married the end of May and I was hoping for some lashes and hair.LesleyH said:Hi Astrid,
