elevated calcium level

I had my 3 month check up with routine bloodwork yesterday. Doc called a little while ago and said that my calcium level was up. We decided to follow up with a parathyroid hormone level to start. Anyone out there have any experience with elevated calcium levels?

    I also had elevated Ca level after colon cancer and chemo. It was from the parathyroid. Surgery for removal was simple and no problems. The parathyroids are the size of a grain of sand and hard to find.Some people even have different numbers of parathyroids and one or more may be bad. Go as far as you have to to find a Dr. who does several parathyroid (not thyroid) surgeries per week. Lots of signicant potential problems with an inexperinced Dr who only does a handfull per year
