VIN I - Laser Removal

Hello! On March 28, I had laser surgery to remove some areas on my vulva that were diagnosed as VIN I. It was outpatient surgery and really wasn't a big deal at the time. That night, when I got home and looked at the area, I was shocked. I felt so mutilated and sad. The first few days, I was fine. I felt very little pain around the area. Since last night though, I have felt extreme pain (burning) around the area after urination. The pain only lasts about 30 seconds but it feels like a lifetime. It is so painful. I have been taking baths. I also have this cream that they gave me that is supposed to help the pain. The only pain medication I was given was Tylenol with Codeine. I can't take that all the time because the codeine knocks me out. Does anyone have any hints to help me speed up this healing process? Or is this pain I am feeling abnormal? My follow-up with my GYN isn't until April 24. Should I call her with my concerns or is this just a normal part of the healing process?

    I have had 3 Vulvectomy's and the best thing I learned was Lidocane ointment that the doc has to prescribe it will heal the area and help with the pain. You can not live like that because it will become harder for you to urinate. I know I have been there. I just had my 3rd the 27th of March this year.
