this is a cancer site (Blog) by Dr. Phil Berman-(Lung Cancer Survivor)the name derives from his plan to paint one toenail for each year he is a cancer survivor.A portion of his statemet follows:
"Once there are enough of us, we become a powerful force in cancer care. Think about it. Every body that profits from our illness (hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies and even care givers) has a lobby, or a political action committee, or a trade association, or sometimes all three. We have very very little voice despite the fact that we are 10 million people strong. If RedToenail.org becomes big enough, pharmaceutical companies will come and listen to us. They will ask us to email appropriate patients to enroll them in appropriate clinical trials, or announce significant advances, drug clearances, and trial results. Wouldn't you rather have them come to you, than searching for them for hours on the internet?"
You can also create your own blog.

Hi. I'm new. Believe it or not, as a result of participating in the Relay last year, just survivor lap, I applied for and am now a voluntary ambassador for the ACS. And guess what? I'm going to lobby in Sacramento in April, DC in Sept. There's always room for more. But ANY exposure is great...I also fill out NEXCURA surveys and others. Once you are connected, everyone is interested. Some interviews even pay a little!
Thanks for the link!
