Help With Child's Difficulty Adjusting with Father's Death

My husband died in August 2005 from kidney cancer. Our only daughter (just turned 11) has been having a difficult time adjusting to life without her father. She's become on one hand, extremely needy and clingy to me, but on the other hand, we have a major power struggle. She tests me constantly and tries to be the adult, telling me what I can and cannot do. I've had her in counseling, but I don't know what else to do. I know that a lot of it is normal behavior in the grief process, but I wondered if any of you had similar circumstances and what you did to help the situation?? Thank you.
