I ran across an article recently about a current research study being undertaken by the NIH and thought some of the rest of you might have sisters would be interested. It's called the "Sister Study" and it's a 10-year study being conducted by the NIH's National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences that's going to investigate how a woman's genetics and environment afffect her susceptibility to breast cancer. They currently doing enrollment and their target is 50,000 participants. My sisters were very excited to be able to participate, especially since there isn't that much involved except during the enrollment period where they do blood and urine tests and have them complete lengthy questionnaires. I hadn't read anything about this elsewhere so wanted to pass along the information in case others thought their own sisters might be interested in participating. If you go to www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11043673/ you can read the article that has more information about the study.
