This chat on Thursday Feb. 23 looks interesting. I've cut and pasted the info. I'd appreciate feedback from others concerning this and maybe ideas for questions.

Thanks.

Ileostomy specialist Don Schiller, MD, FACS, Director of the Continent Ostomy Center at Brotman Medical Center in Los Angeles, discusses and answers questions regarding the Barnett Continent Intestinal Reservoir (BCIR), an appliance-free procedure for patients with medically unresponsive severe inflammatory bowel disease or polyposis.

The BCIR replaces the normal exterior ostomy appliance with an internal self-sealing pouch. Dr. Schiller is one of only a few surgeons in the United States who performs this innovative procedure. Ileostomy patient Kelly Franco and others also relate personal experiences with the BCIR.
