I had chemo dose dense, radiation, lump ectomy and complete hysterectomy why would i have to go on any meds, tamoxifin, or anything since i am not producing estogen, i was estrogen pos

    Good guestion. Although the majority of our estrogen is produced by the ovaries, estrogen is also produced in fat cells with help from the adrenal glands. This estrogen is sufficient to increase our chance for a recurrance. The drugs prescribed are intended to protect us from this little known estrogen.

    about meds.have you talked with your doctor? I had a mastectomy AND radical hysterectomy. I was on tamoxifin then AFTER the hystery my doctor put me on ARIMIDEX. I am estrogen pos also.
