When iwas diagnosed in dec with stage 3c ovarian cancer in dec 05, i had fluid in my chest that caused me pain and discomfort. My gyn oncologist said it will go away after a few rounds of chemotherapy has anybody had this problem???? and if so did it infact go away with the chemo or did it have to be drained???

Hi Sorella, Welcome to the board, I am so sorry you have to be here. But you have found a place full of support, care and concern.

I had fluid in my abdomen that did end up having to be drained. Sometimes the chemo takes care of it sometimes not. It depends on what is causing the fluid build up. Give the chemo a try and if it isn't going away ask to have it drained.

    Prayers and Hugs
