Could it be?

Hello! I am a 30 year old mother of 3 beautiful, wonderful children, and hoping to add one more before our family is complete. I was diagnosed w/GERD in '97-'98, and have taken several different prescribed meds for it since. The meds have changed from time to time because I have been pregnant or nursing a child for all but 6 months of the last 6 years. Anyway, I've noticed in the last several months that I would occasionally get a sore throat and thought I was getting a cold. No other symptoms would ever come up though, and I'd go on as usual. About 5-6 weeks ago, my voice started getting hoarse, and at the time my husband was sick, so I just thought I was getting what he was getting. The hoarseness never cleared up. After researching persistent sore throat and hoarseness online, I've landed here, and just thought I'd ask for advice. I will be going to the doc on Monday and am already dreading it because my husband is an Army recruiter and not living near a base, we are having terrible times getting into civilian docs. I was wondering if they would more than likely do some sort of scope pretty quickly, and if so, how long has your wait been for the results? Thanks, and God bless!.....Julie
