Hi everyone, well I have been on the couch crying for the last hour and boy do I have a headache. My dad goes in Wednesday for a Cat Scan after being off chemo for 3 months. The Chemo shrunk his tumor real small so they gave him a break. Im just a emotional wreck thinking of Wednesday. I feel so bad for him because I know he is scared and there is not a darn thing I can do to help him. Then of course I start to think of all these things on how will I live without a dad. I know people out there have lost their parents and life goes on. I just adopted a baby and she is my life and future now and I must go on but I just dont see how you can ever be happy again once you lose a parent. Im sorry this is so long but Im having a bad night. Thanks for listening and If you could just please say a prayer for Bob I believe in the power of prayer. Melinda

Hi Melinda,
I can certainly relate to the fear of losing a parent. It is not easy to watch our parents go through this. It is just not fair. My mom is stage 3 starting chemo on tuesday for 6 months and i often fear her leaving me as she is my best friend. I think the best thing is to be there when they ask and when they don't ask. I wonder my self if i could live without her and it makes me sad. I think for me it is normal to feel our fears and it does help to talk about it and try to get all the support you can. Good luck and I will certainly pray for you and your father.

Hi Melinda,
I hope that today finds you feeling better. Waiting for tests and their results always gives us reason to be anxious, but since your dad's last scans showed good results, I pray that these will as well. I will be thinking of you both on Wednesday. Let us hear how everything goes.
Hugs,

Hi Mindy,
I'll be praying for your father. Please let me know when you get the results.
Take Care,

Hi Mindy,
I was just wondering how your Dad's scan went. My dad also has colon cancer...I know exactly how you feel about losing a parent. I can't imagine being able to go on with my life without my parents there. Hang in there -Nicole0
