Hi everyone I just came back from the doctor and my blood work looked good. No Evidence of Disease. I was surprised when my doc said to come back every 4 weeks. Do any other stage 4 semi-colons have to see the doc that often? I don't mind but I was just wondering.

Congratulations jerseysue! NED is really a great thing to hear. Even after NED I see my doctor every two weeks, and I am still receiving chemotherapy drugs (Erbitux and Avastin). They will want to watch you pretty closely in case anything comes back.

    Best wishes,
    Rodney

So very very happy for you. I amstage three and have bloodwork every three months and then scans, etc., every six. I wish I had longer intervals, but still worry in-between......so at least you know what our body is doing. Again, so happy for you and I hope you are feeling well and that good news continues - Maura

    Yippee! Congrats!
4 weeks seems pretty often to me, but perhaps he's just being overly cautious initially and i don't see anything wrong with that. I would guess that he will decrease the frequency as time moves forward.

Hi jerseysue, I am a jersey person myself. I was also stage 4 and have to go every 4 weeks for bloodwork. I panic about it but do it... How long has it been since you've been off chemo? Doreen

Wonderful news about NED! Congratulations. I am now seeing my doc every 2 mos. I think it is every 2 mos for the first 6 mos, then every 3 mos for the next 6 mos. I get blood done each visit (including CEA). I'll have a chest xray in 3 mos and another scan in 6 mos.
