Hang in there and try your best to keep a positive attitude. I know it's difficult with so much uncertainty surrounding all of this, but as my colleagues here will tell you, a positive attitude is the most important weapon Mike has in his arsenal against the dragon. It's so tough sometimes to remain positive, but it is SO VERY important.
Have a great New Year!

Mike and Sylvia,
You will get through this. It will not be easy and the next few weeks will be rough. Try to walk as much as you can after surgery. It helps with healing. Ask for an epidural for pain control. It really helps to get you up and about with no pain.
Most important hug those kids, that will help you get better. Just keep remembering that you have to get better for the kids.
None of us picked this terrible road we had to travel, so we have to make the best of it.
Just remember, YOU WILL GET BETTER.
Good luck and keep us posted.
PS Take all offers for help, esp. home cooked meals.

You will get through this. My kids were 2, 4, & 7 when I was diagnosed over 4 yrs ago. Today, I am cancer free, formerly a state 4. THERE IS HOPE! Keep us updated on the progress!
Stacy
I'll be thinking of you and Mike on Wednesday (I'm having my CT scan then) and hoping for the best!
