Hi
I was just dx with breast cancer. I will start radiation tomorrow ( no chemo because is so small ) This sounds like a good treatment. ? I will have radiation twice a day for 5 days. I was dx with colon cancer a year ago. I'm in remission.I have learned a lot about colon cancer, but do not know anything about breast cancer. You are the experts, so your comments will be appreciated...
Thanks and God bless////

HI. I FOUND OUT I HAD BREAST CANCER 2/25/05 HAD LUMPECTOMY FOLLOWED BY CHEMO EVERY 2WKS FOLLOWED BY RADITION EVERY 5 DAY FOR 35 DAYS. MY TUMOR WAS 1.3 CEN. AND GRADE 3 CANCER AND STAGE 1. THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO HAVE BOTH EITHER WAY. WETHER THEY TOOK THE WHOLE BOOB OR PART OF IT. BUT I FOUND THAT THE RADITION WAS A LOT EASER THAN THE CHEMO. YOU MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET A SECOND OPINION? OH AND I'M ONLY 38

Hi, Alta29 I was dx with Breast Cancer 1999 small Cancer Insitu no Chemo or Radiation. Had lumpectomy used Tamoxiphen(sp) for 4 and a half years then switched to Femara. Un fortually had a separate cancer no mets. at that time in 2001-Colon Cancer. Its been 6 years for breast and happy to say Ned for that. I understand how you feel about having both at different times. Hope everything goes well for you. Livin

first I would want to know how old you are. Have you had children? Do you want children? These must be addressed before you start any treatments. I would most definitely be looking for a second opinion as the usual thing I hear is the tumor is too big so they will do radiation to shrink and take another look, I hope they are not short changing you by not offering to at least remove it. Best of luck. Lou

It sounds like an unusual protocal. Radiation twice a day for 5 days is not something I have heard. I'm curious to know if you are in the US or a different country? My advise is ask your doctors and nurses as much as you possilble can and surf the internet. You can get a MD degree with all the info you can find on the web.
