My husband needs support

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept. We got married in Oct. My husband is doing a fabulous job with staying strong for me. Although he has his moments and can't cope. I was wondering if anyone could recommend something for him. He doesn't really have anyone to talk to and keeps all his emotions inside. I want him to talk and release his emotions. Any thoughts?

Hi flwr76,
Cancer is hard for the patient but also for family and caregivers. I can imagine it is hard for your husband especially if he tried staying strong for you. I agree with you, holding his emotions inside and not talking is not good for anyone. There is a chat room here at acs and people there are nice, cry with you, laugh with you, are supportive and understand when you need to vent. The chat room is for survivors and caregivers. Other options are to find a support group for family of breast cancer patients or to see a therapist, whichever he is more comfortable with. Have you checked the brest cancer board here? Maybe someone would have better suggestions.
All the best to you both,

my way of handling the situation would be to be to believe that god has it in his hands & pray after you go somewhere to be alone & let your emotions by crying &talk to god for he has ears to hear your tears &he keeps them close to himself & gives you peace & rest john 14:27 reveals the secret. as you can tell im a believer in the lord jesus christ. for my wife has reoccuring calcification that can turn into cancer this is my testimony that god can get us through anything if we put our faith in god.0
