Travel in 2006!

Greetings All....

I hope this finds everyone in a "tolerable" place in their journey...

There has been some discussion about planning the Paloozas for 2006. The general idea is to have two trips, so that folks can make one or the other, depending on treatments, schedules, cash flow, etc. To date, the times of year seem to be April and October, spaced 6 months apart, with weather forecasts being neither "too hot" or "too cold" (spoken in the voice of Goldilocks!).

Ideas currently on the debate table are Niagra Falls planned for April, and Austin, TX planned for October. Concerns are weather in the Niagra Falls area in April, being a little more chilly than folks would prefer. Autsin, TX planned for October would include the Lance Armstrong Ride for the Roses October 23, 2006.

Those of you who haven't attended a Palooza Event would surely benefit from attending one. The friendships established are irreplaceable; the jokes are neverending; and the emotion is overwhelming. I think we can all agree that "life is too short" and that procrastination should be eliminated from our vocabularies.

I have no problem getting the block of rooms reserved as I did in Vegas, just gimme a rough "RSVP" so I can determine how large the clan will be. There is always that window of opportunity to cancel if the trip plans end up not working out for you.

Any feedback/opinions are greatly appreciated and respected,

Stacy (who is brewing up a whole new list of surprises for 2006!)

    Hi Stacy,

Sounds good to me, count me in. I will be in New York City over Easter weekend so if the Palooza in either the week prior or week after, would be great......for me.

If we want to do Austin in October, Kay (knort) and I can help cook up some really good stuff for that!

To everyone else who did not go to Vegas......I can't begin to describe what a wonderful gathering of folks. It was like seeing your best friend again. There was such immediate warmth and a closeness you cannot imagine. Best darn therapy you can buy!!

To all you caregivers (Linda (Btrcup) and Sue (bsrules) and all others (Ali Hamilton)(Jimmy Kendall), please know you are welcome with open arms.

Thanks Stacy for getting the ball rolling.....6 months comes around pretty quickly.

    Hi Friends,

If you feel the weather may be too chilly in April for Niagara Falls, Montreal or Halifax Nova Scotia. Let's do Austin in April and do the Great North next October in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The weather in Halifax in October is usually very pleasant and the leaves are beautiful.Yes there is a casino and all the major American airlines fly to Halifax and your dollar is worth about 18% more here.

This is just my 2 cents worth ...

Oh my- what a difficult decision for a Canadian component...Lisa Rose is right- Halifax is gorgeous in the fall..wonderful ambiance and a nice casino...BUT so is Niagara Falls...October has lovely leaves (think New England and Vermont) and April (toward the end) is lovely spring weather with blossoms along the Niagara Parkway and awesome Vineyard tours at any time (and 2 casino's)...I think we should pick both and do one in 2006 and the other in 2007...Thank you for planning this event- sure hope we can attend one of them in 2006

    Hi Bev,

I like how you think, Do Both... Halifax in 2006 & Niagara in 2007. I would like to do the southern states in the spring while the weather is warming up here in the north.... Austin here we come.

My son Andrew made a short video from Palooza 2 in Las Vegas. We had it on the board last week but you may have missed it.

The video was done to the theme song of The Mary Tyler Moore Show ( Semi- Colon Edition ). Kanort ( Kay ) reminded us of Mary Richards with all her love & kindness and that wonderful smile. We hope you enjoy it.

Looking forward to meeting you at Palooza 3 or 4.

    Baby Lisa

So is it Austin in April and either Niagra Falls or Nova Scotia in October, then the other in 2007. I am in for it all!!!!!!!!! Stacy, you proved in Vegas what the advanced block of room reservation can do (it saved us $100.00 a nite!!!). Not to mention the cheaper airfares with great seats that far in advance.

A trick I do with myself, I book right away knowing I can cancel if I must. That way, I don't chicken out as easily later on. The $$ is easier to budget that way too, it's like paying a little every month instead of a "huge one time bill".

Trust me, I have been at both Paloozas and the warmth in your soul and spirit stays with you for so long. It is truly wonderful to meet each other in person.

    AND LIZBETH LOVES HER VEGETABLES!!!!!

    Hey guys and gals.

I'd be in for Halifax or Niagra Falls.

Perhaps a future destination: A cruise to Bermuda. I know they sail out of NYC.

    hey semis,

well since I wasn't able to make it to Vegas I surely hope to make it to the next one.

I vote Halifax in October. Arthur got really excited and thought we would load the homeschool kids in the VW and make a trip of it. Niagara would be fine too. But I like the Fall North Spring South plan. Won't be in Austin....too much end of year get my daughter graduated stuff going on I am sure.

It all sounds good. We'll skip the casinos but I am sure there are plenty of other sightseeing things to do in eigther Nova Scotia or Niagara.

    WooHoo!

peace, emily who would love to have her family in tow!
