gamma or cyberknife?
We would feel best to "knife" both the lung and brain ASAP, then do WBR if it is still recommended. Please share your experiences with us...thanks.

I foundout my lung cancer returned, a tumor in the lung I'd had surgery on 2 years ago. Was scheduled for surgery and had a MRI, found a brain tumor. I underwent 20 whole brain radiation treatments. Tomorrow I am going in for the cyberknife procedure. We saw specialists on both the gammaknife and the cyberknife and I chose the cyberknife. I'll let you know how it goes. Swanny0

Swanny... my thoughts and prayers are with you today as you undergo your porcedure. Thanks for sharing... we are leaning toward the cyberknife as well...appt. on thursady (north NJ)... my dad's drs. also want to do WBR first, but he has chosen not to do it until after if need be...he feels strongly about it...hope its the right thing to do...how do you feel after your 20 treatments? Will you also have to "cyberknife" your lung? My father hopes to...we'll know if he can on Thursday. God bless you... talk to you soon.swanny said:I foundout my lung cancer returned, a tumor in the lung I'd had surgery on 2 years ago. Was scheduled for surgery and had a MRI, found a brain tumor. Hi Swanny... I hope you are doing well after your cyberknife procedure. We had a consultation for my dad (lung cancer w/ mets to brain), but they were unwilling to do a procedure w/ the cyberknife until after he has whole brain radiation. This is about the 6th doctor now, who has recommended WBR, so reluctantly, he agreed. He had his first treatment yesterday and so far so good. Now, regarding his lung tumor which nothing has been done about yet, unfortunately the cyberknife won't work for that either... his tumor is located on the "inside side" of his lung (nearer to his heart as opposed to his ribs) and they will not use the cyberknife for tumors located there... what are they doing/have they done for your lung tumor? Again... hope you are doing well and hope to hear from you soon...ten0
