bleeding

I was wanting to know if anyone has ever experienced bleeding while going thru chemo and rad. My mom is doing this and the oncologist said today that it could be one of two things either the rad and chemo were breaking ( or shrinking ) the cancer cells or that the cancer could be getting worse. She is not bleeding from the rectum it is from the vaginal area and they are doing the rad on it as well because the cancer had moved there. He also said there was no way to find out for sure till they finished rad and chemo. Any imput? Thanks ...Lynne

I had radiation for rectal tumour. Afterwards, the tissue inside my vagina was quite delicate and I occasionally had bleeding, but only after intercourse or vaginal exam -- and only a little bit of bleeding. This sounds different from what your mom is experiencing? I'm sorry not to be of more help.....Hope you get some answers...
