Another bowel obstruction

Hi everyone,

I am trying to catch up on the posts again, I was just discharged from the hospital with another small bowel obstruction. It was the first one since my colostomy surgery in Jan, but it it was about the 5th or 6th one since I started with this terrible illness. Oh well, it is good to be home and it will be nice to sleep in my own bed tonite.

I continue to pray for you all and have added the people affected by Hurricane Katrina to my list.

    Dear Maureen,

    I am so sorry to hear of your recent hospitalization. I can't imagine having to endure so many obstructions. I pray that this will be your last one.

    I, too, add the many affected by the hurricane to my prayer list.

    Boy, Maureen, you are such a trooper to take this in stride. Glad to hear that this one resolved, and I hope they are figuring out strategies to prevent another one.

    Hey Maureen!!! Sorry to hear of your troubles. I haven't had an obstuction yet. (knock on wood). I go in mid-sept for all my one year tests and first colonoscopy with the ostomy. Sweating that but once I go through it the first time the next time will be a breeze. Right??!??!

    Hi MO: Dothey have you on stool softeners? I know these little capsules kept me out of the hospital a few times....bud

    Hiya Maureen. Good to hear you are out of hospital. My initial surgery after dx was based on a 2/3 bowel obstruction and I gotta say the pain and stomach cramps were no fun. Lets hope thats all behind you now!
    Truth be known I don't mind hospitals as long as they give me female nurses!!!..lol!
