Stopping smoking NOW....

I am going to try to quit smoking (again) as I have been recently diagnossed with a cancer that has metastetized and it isn't in my lungs (yet).
My doctor keeps warning smoking is weakening my lungs and the cancer would love to go there (it still might).
I think this will take a LOT of emotional support as I REALLY need to do it (today) and I know how tough it has been before. My stress level is pretty high now and that doesn't help...

Hi Great GF, I know that it is not easy to stop smoking but you can do it. Replace your cigarrette with something else, like a glass of water, chewing gum, etc. The American Cancer Society, hospitals, Lung Assoc. have online support groups for smokers who want to quit. Here're some places where you can get help and info www.lungusa.org/tobacco - www.quitnet.com The most important thing is to want to quit and then set a date when you will stop. I know it is difficult but you can do it!!
All the best, TereB0
