Just curious how many people are on this particular chemo and if they have experienced good results for stage IV with mets to liver or anywhere else. I heard that FOLFOX is "one of" or the "best" treatment for Stage IV with liver mets and I recently heard that if FOLFOX is used first or "before" they try some other chemo that it is much more effective than using this as a second try.
Has anyone else heard this or anything similar?
Thanks for your replies.

Sue.....
always keep in mind that each person reacts differently to each treatment....my mother who is a stage IV firs received FOLFOX for 5 months and at first it looked like it was doing great her CEA had dropped but they it shot back up because her body had become resistant to it( at least thats what the docs told us) then she was moved to Comptosar and that didtn do anything and its until now that she is receiving FOLFOX with Avastin and its doing great on her...her CEA have once again dropped....I truly hope that FOLFOX does miracles to you like it has done to others but keep in mind that each person reacts differently.....and key to is...is have FAITH....Have FAITH.....Have FAITH...take care and may GOD bless you and your family....

Hi Sue,
I am on FOLFOX now. I've completed 3 treatments and have 9 to go. I had metastisis to the lung.
My understanding is that there are now several good "cocktails" and that there are good options -- if you have 'A' first and it doesn't work so well, then you can try 'B" and so on. I know, in my situation, that if the FOLFOX doesn't work or if I have a recurrence at some point in the future, that there is another "cocktail" waiting for me. I take great faith in the rapid advances in these drugs!
Best wishes to you.

Hi Sue,
My husband is stage IV crc with mult liver mets. He has just finished his 12th rounf of FOLFOX with Avastin and has had incredible results. The tumor in his colon is gone and his liver looked to be about 90% improved as of a few weeks ago. He gets another scan on the 16th of this month that will tell us what is left. Good luck to you...We will be praying for you.
