HI EVERYONE DIAGNOSED WITH PAPILLARY CANCER JULY-04 HAD SURGERY THEN HAD A 131 TREATMENT. MY QUESTION IS. WE JUST FOUND MY WIFE HAS TO HAVE HER TYROUD REMOVED JUST ONE YEAR APART AND MITE HAVE CANCER TO. HAS ANYBODY HERD OF THIS HAPANNING WE HAVE TWO KIDS SIX AND NINE.

There are sometimes environmental issues that could have affected you both. Proximity to nuclear testing in the 50's and 60's is a possibility - you might want to have a look at this site at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) idenitifying risk of age/proximity exposure:

Three Mile Island, the Nevada test sites, and even Chernobyl has been cited as a possible risk factor for us.
The rise in thyroid cancer is almost certain to be environmentally related - we just don't know, absolutely for certain, why yet... hope this helps a bit, though, and I'm sorry you are both going through this. I wish you well.0
