Hi Everyone,
Happy 4th of July!
Diagnosed March 2004 with rectal cancer. Had radiation and chemo(xeloda), surgery June 28 with permanent colostomy, followed by 6 months of xeloda.
I have been cancer free for 1 year, but I never got a chance to celebrate. My father unexpectedly passed away on that day.
I just wanted everyone that is going through treatment now to know that there is hope and life after cancer. Since my diagnosis, I have gone to work full time for the first time in my life,(I was home raising 7 children) beginning 2 1/2 months after surgery, separated from my husband of 28 years and will hopefully be finishing my master's degree next spring. Looking back on the year, I'm not sure what I was thinking!
I hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday!
Take care,
Jamie

Congratulations Jamie!! Coming out of all this swinging is a difficult thing to do. Dealing with all the everyday hassles is hard enough without having to deal with cancer. We both commend you and thank you for encouraging all here that we can still be achievers.CAMaura said:Hi Jamie,
