Here's something that might help. It's a little unconventional and might offend some, but here it is anyway. I stumbled across something that has helped me enormously with cuts and scrapes and just general all around healing. It does much better than neosporin on cuts and such. I'm allergic to some of the chemicals that are put in water for treatment and some that are in shampoos. I used to be just miserable. I did an online search for itchy scalp and came across emu oil which was supposed to be one of the best remedies. I tried it and was really impressed with what I saw. The itching was gone right away. One of the uses that was listed for emu oil was radiation burn. I know that I might be offending the animal lovers out there and I love animals myself, but this stuff really works on skin and it might be a simple inexpensive remedy that might help. I have also used this on canker sores inside my mouth and in my nose when we have the really dry winds. Yeah, I know, too much information, but what I'm getting at is that it works and I'm hoping that maybe one of you who are experiencing painful sores might find some relief with it.

Thanks for the tip, MD. It arrives a little late for me but I may need it in the future. Look at my web page for all the gory details of radiation burn I received during treatment. The rad doc watched me closely and saw nothing unusual. The damage appeared later (radiation is the gift that keeps on giving) I needed two muscle flaps to close the incisions from surgery. I had a local reocurrance and they unzipped me twice. It was madness!
Hyperbaric treatment followed. That was a fun ride. A fellow in the chamber with me had maggots debriding the skin around a wound and one of the little bugggers fell out of bed. More madness.
Don't get any ideas, Sponge. Oxygen does not make you high. It does make you look younger, however, as evidenced by my profile photo.

Thanks for your info MD. I used Aloe Vera here in Australia and there was good 'ol emu oil staring me in the face. It is commonly used over here for many ailments.

Asp......did yah really haf ta mention the maggots......a fella was trying to eat supper here!!!!lol!
