Hi all! I have posted here before and I see alot of new names. It's wonderful to see so many contributions.
To catch up, none of the chemo therapy treatments have worked so far for me. We're starting a new regimine next week. Anyone have any experience with Erbitux? Any information would be helpful. I've previously been on 5 FU and Leucovorin and Avistin and Oxilaplatin. The dr tells me that the cancer is very slow growing so we have time. No major organ involvement but too many tumors for surgery. Anyway, if any of you have taken Erbutux I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks
Rita

Hi Rita,
My doctor considered putting me on Erbitux if the other regimens did not work. He explained the side effects which were minimal except for the skin acne which can range from mild to severe. It's always something, so we must weigh our choices with the results we want to achieve. Luckily these side effects do go away after treatment.
Good luck.

Hi Rita,
I have been on Erbitux for several months now. I was on it for three months before surgery, and have been on it for five weeks after so far - with another eleven weeks to go. It is supposed to be one of the latest and greatest chemo's with wonderous results. Hopefully that will prove true for you as well. As someone else pointed out, the biggest side effect is the acne like rash. And just so you know, the worse the rash is, the better the medicine is believed to be working... If I can answer any other questions, please let me know. Best of luck!
