Hello Everyone!!! I am doing somewhat better today. I have read everyone's post and you all have helped me through a very rough time. I am ashamed of myself for being in such a state. Youn all pulled me back which was all I could of asked for!!!! Thank You All from the bottome of my heart!!!! I tried to call the social worker whom I was working with while Bob was on hospice. She hasn't called me back yet I WILL try again tomorrow. I also bit the bullet and dove in as my neighbor who is dieing from cancer also came hime from the hospital yesterday. I hadn't seen her for a while a I just couldn't deal with the hole situation. I did go over to see her after work and after we talked for a while. It did feel good to put a smile on her face. I want to help her but I am afraid of sayin gsomething to depress her even more. I guess all I can do is tell her the truth and just listen and answer her questions as to what I did for Bob at that particular stage. I felt bad for keeping my distance as she has a family. I told her that if she ever wanted to talk I will be there.
I just want to let you know how helpful you all were to me!!!!! I can't Thank You enough!!!!!!! I can't say that I am out of the woods but I am doing better then I was.
Love, Prayers and best wishes to ALL of you!!!!
Love Always!!!
Sue

Hi Sue, I am glad you posted as I am sure I can safely say, we were all worried about you. Do call the social worker again. It must be very hard talking to someone who is suffering from cancer when you have so recently lost Bob. I think your presence will help her though and you should not worry too much about saying the wrong thing. I am sure she is just glad to have you there. But, in helping others, do not neglect yourself. Keep in tune with your feelings and make sure you listen to your heart. You are still grieving and recognize that. So you must help yourself first...thereafter, you can help others.
Keep posting

Sue,
What you did with your posts was so brave. You knew you needed to vent and you also paid us a huge compliment by feeling comfortable enough to do it with us. I am so happy for you. That was Bob talking to you honey. You know that just as I do.
I was out of town over the weekend and got a little worried about you, but now I don't think I need to anymore.
You are so strong and so smart. I admire you immensely.
Hugs girlfriend and hang tough just like you are doing. Yes, some days will be hard but I know you will do awesome things in the days to come.

Sue, I am soooo happy that you're feeling a little better. Don't worry that you might sa something wrong to your friend. You will do fine. You were a caregiver for so long, so you know how a cancer patient sometimes needs to talk, and sometimes doesn't. You know too, that you just have to be there for them. This is a start of something that I feel gives you a lot of purpose. You have a lot of purpose in your life anyways, but I feel that helping this friend is just the start for you. I know you have helped me a lot already. And...I'm sure there are a lot of others here that you have helped. I love you so much and never want anything to happen to you. You are a part of my life now. Maybe, I'm selfish, but I need you and heck, I think you even need me and others here. We have to be there for each other. Sorry, so long, but I just am so happy that you're doing better.
