Alternatives to Radiation?

My son has ALL Leukemia and I don't want him radiated and stunt his growth, if he survives it ... any ideas on what to fight for here, alternatives? thanks

    Hi,
    Radiation is less used now than when I was treated and more aggressive chemo usually negates the need for it.
    It is a powerful treatment but does have its down sides. Growth problems, cranial radiation can lead to memory problems, there are also fertility risks.
    The consultant should explain the pros and cons with you.
