Thank You
After reading so many posts from loving, caring family members trying to learn about their loved ones disease, I started to reflect on my own battle this past year.
Both of my sisters flew in from Colorado and Mass. to New York to be with me during my ordeal. They put their own lives on hold to help me thru. My parents drove with me to almost every doctors appointment and chemo session.
They watched my 3 young girls while I was in the hospital, they came with me to chemo sessions, they made dinner ( and lunch and breakfast ) for my family when I couldn't. They made me laugh. Sometimes, so hard my incision hurt. ( thanks sis)
They hugged me, laughed with me, and cried with me. They got me through the tough times.
I probably could never repay them for all the love, support, prayers, and comfort they have giving to my family and me.
So, I offer this, to all the caregivers, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, you touch our souls, ease our pain, comfort our anxietys, and shine a ray of warm soothing sunshine on our faces.
You are the hand to hold, the shoulder to lean on, the body we lean on when we are in pain, the soul that prays for us. You are our strength, our peace.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Love to all that put others above themselves.
Barb

From the bottom of a cargivers heart - YOU'RE VERY WELCOME - we would not have it any other way. Helping our 'patient' heals us in many ways.

I am just beginning this journey. I hope I can live up to your praise! My sister will be receiving her first treatment next week. I'm as scared as she is. This discussion board has helped me tremendously. I don't have that choking feeling in my throat anymore b/c I have ya'll! Yes, I am from the South!!

Hi Barb, whatever I can do to help make the journey easier for you, it is my pleasure. Thanks for your loving care as well. I wish that I could just reach through your computer and give you a big warm hug. In fact, I wish that I could do that for everyone. I replyed in your message to me that yes I'm on OXALIPLATIN. I had no idea that it might be linked to making my jaw sore. It acually throbs. Huggs and prayers Barb

Well said Barb. As you can see from our photo's Jen is always at my side. That is why I call all our caregivers "angels".What really brings tears to my eyes is how she always is able to keep smiling....she holds her concerns for me very close to herself. A tower of strength!!Shandle said:Hi Barb, whatever I can do to help make the journey easier for you, it is my pleasure. Thanks for your loving care as well.
