need help- post gastrectomy

My dad had his whole stomach and part of his colon out in March '04. He recovered from the chemo and radiation and was eating pretty well and playing golf until a month ago. Now he throws up all the time, can't keep anything down, is back on the TPN and is having severe abdominable pains. They have done EVERY test in the book and cannot find any cancer, nor any blockages. Does anyone have any ideas? This is very difficult. Thanks in advance.

    melvin, my wife also is a gastric cancer patient.
    Same problems here. Throwing up constantly and on TPN. I sent my wife to the Mayo in MN. for help.
    She was throwing up bile and secretions.At that time she did not have a blockage but they did a corrective surgery I belive called the rue & y is
    the proceedures name. My wife initial surgeon connected her bowels to high in her intestinal tract which attributed to some of the naseau.This
    was corrected at the Mayo but some naseau persisted.This uncontrollable naseau led to aspiration of fluid into the lungs.This led to pnuemonia and ICU & respirators(no fun). They had to do a surgery to bring my wifes esophagus thru the side of her neck in a spit fistula.Dramatic at the time but now is a blessing. My wife has not complained once.Recently , naseau and severe
    pain returned.There was a blockage in her colon
    in which we fixed with an colostmy.Scans/X-rays
    did not show anything but this cancer had progressed rapidly since the surgery at Mayo 6 mths previously.The faster you act /the better your odds. We found out after the fact.

    My mother had her stomach removed in March of this year ('06) and is having a lot of the same complications.
    Although your father seemed to have a pretty normal life for a while, do you think that he might be experiencing the dumping syndrome?
    I know my mother is extremely susceptible to it and it causes a lot of the spells that your father seems to be experiencing.
