Tamoxifen side effects

I've been on Tamoxifen since August 2004; will be on it for 5 years. Had a lumpectomy in January 2004, 4 rounds of chemo, and the standard 33 doses of radiation. The chemo regime and Tamoxifen are part of a trial I'm in. (I'm 42, pre-menopausal, hormone-positve.) I haven't had the most common side effects from Tamoxifen -
weight gain, hot flashes, depression. However, I have had significant problems with nausea and dizziness. Protonix has taken care of the nausea, but I still am dizzy a significant amount of time (several hours a day, most days). Are there others who have this issue? If so, how do you deal with it?
Thanks,
Beth

I take Arimidex but studied up on Tamoxifen before making my choice. The symptoms you describe sometimes indicate an overdose of Tamoxifen. Perhaps you are more sensitive to it's effects than others getting the same standard dose. Saw this article on studies to lower the standard dosage. You might be interested:

I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years 1989 to 1994. I had the hot flashes and occasional light headedness. I was in a tamoxifen only protocol, no radiation or chemo. I have not had a recurrance of Breast CA. Had a modified radical at age 39. Just recently saw a news story on tamoxifen and increased endometrial CA. Check with your doc about the side effects you are experiencing. Best of luck.
