Something to look into... A very informative site with a product that's 80% effective. Operated by a cancer survivor! Good luck.

I know that I look at all these things with medical eyes and have years of medical education that does cloud my perception of other apporaches. But I am geenrally open to alternatives and other options often as supplements to traditional medical approaches. Therefore please take this advise within that context.
BE CAUTIOUS: there is NO evidence any of the interventions recommended in that regime works. When I say evidence I mean decent science - not occassional anecdotal stories. There is a clear disclaimer with this treatment that it does 'not cure or treat any illness or disease'. this indicates that there is no evidence that it does any good in cancer.
there is however probably little harm in the regime either so I accept that some may chose to try it and I would not blame them for doing so. Just be aware there are people making very good money out of these schemes ($600 for two months treatment ain't cheap) and they can't produce any scientific eveidence it does any good. Claims that it is 80% effective are extremely suspicious. If anything was that good a drug company would have bought it up and be making billions out of it.
Sorry for the scepticism and I accept a lot of it somes from my medical background. My core advise though is to go into these things with your eyes open and accept they aren't proven treatments. However they probably do little harm and may supplement mainstream medicine in a useful way. They also often allow people to feel they are taking active control of their illness which can have a very positive psychological effect.
Please let me know if I am out of sync with the rest of the thinking on this forum and I willkeep more quiet. Just thought I would express an opinion. Opposing opinions are very welcome adn I would be interested to hear them,

I believe that your comments are definitely within the realm of this forum, not at all out of sync, and were very important. I looked over the site and became immediately skeptical. They seemed to be asking people to send in their money but were very vague about what they were actually selling. That's my personal opinion and I could be completely wrong, but I'd want to know a lot more before I sent anyone that much money. There are a lot of people out there preying on those who are desperate for cures to diseases such as ours. I think it's great to have someone here with your unique background and slant on the subject. I'm sure that we're all clouded in one way or another by our own personal experience, but it's important to share that with others. Isn't that why we're all here? Thanks for your input.

I also went to the website. I have to say, $650 is a lot of money for a two month supply of litmus paper, Coral Calcium pills, and Pomegranat Extract pills. I got curious so I checked some on line places. Litmus paper, 100 strips - $3.50
Coral Calcium capsules, 180 caps - $20
Pomeratrol (pomagranet extract) capsules, 60 caps - $17
Just food for thought. Not saying it's snake oil, but, like Steve and Carl - I have my doubts about the authenticity of this. I say put that money into a Veg-o-Matic 5000 Juicer and some organic carrots! Emily will be all too happy to help you get started.

As for Steve, my gosh dude, what would this forum be with one opinion flying around out there. Of course I hardly ever agree with you but there are plenty who do I am sure. No monopolies here. We need all input and we need all to feel comfortable sharing them too!!
so sponger thanks for doing the research and keeping us safe from charlatans. You are truly our "protector" not only in the seas but in the cyberspace.
thanks friend. :-)
peace, emily who uses litmus paper to check her pH.....cancer likes an acid state so stay neutral!0 -

I appreciate the sensitive way you worded your posting. Since you asked, I support what you say 100%. However, I also want to state (as others have) that I also strongly support diversity of opinion and philosophy. That is one thing I like about this board. Indeed, if that didn't exist here, I would not be able to support this board. For myself, I like to think I am open to different treatment options, but also keep my eyes open. I think it is important to evaluate any.

Awww... you're just being nice because I espoused juicing. You kow, Em, my mom is doing it now (or so she says). Heck I may just start too once I get my feet permanently on dry land (sorta hard to juice on the ship) - Let's see...2bhealed said:that's a Champion Juicer sponger!! :-)

Some boards won't tolerate ANY discussion of alterative therapies. They think it causes credibility problems since there no studies following FDA protocols to suppport claims.
One such place refused to allow mention of a highly respected oncologist with major credentials because he espoused eastern techniques blended with conventional western regimes. He is Chinese and saw herbals and accupuncture, etc as a child.
We are given a free hand to bring up alternatives here even if it is just to debunk some of it.

That isn't juice; it's "corn-squeezins" (aka Moonshine) and that isn't a can, that's a Mason jar!

Please, keep your comments coming; you are writing with thoughtfulness - not condemnation of those looking elsewhere. Chemo is sooooo hard that I wonder why I hadn't looked into anything "alternative". I trust my surgeon and asked him "Would you send your sister through a six-month regimen?" and he, of course, said yes. But my oncologist is quick to say that he really doesn't know how I feel......he merely dispenses the posions, and meds and meds and meds to counteract the side effects. I see the medical evidence (in percentages) citing how much better-off I will be if I have chemo, but the regimen is a nightmare; I truly don't know that I will make it through to the complete 12 sessions. I haven't switched to an alternative.....but I can certainly see people entertaining the thought. It is good discussion; so no worries about offending anyone.steved said:I know that I look at all these things with medical eyes and have years of medical education that does cloud my perception of other apporaches.
