My dad was recently diagnosed with non-small-cell adenocarcinoma. They are calling it inoperable merely b/c of its location- it is a single, very small tumor that is touching the vena cava and the trachea. Does anyone know of a surgeon in this country or another who performs this delicate surgery with any level of sucess? Please help...desperate.

Hi there, 5 years ago i was diagnosed with the same cancer as your dads. Also vena cave. So I wasn't able to have surgery either. The tumor was very small but had spread to lymph nodes and brain. I went a head with chemo and radiation. The plan was after treatment and when the tumor was smaller I would have surgery, but I didn't need to have surgery at all. My treatment worked great. I've been cancer free for 5 years. I hope this helps a little bit. Luann
