SEMI-COLON REUNION
I wanted to put this out so you can make plans... the first annual Semi-Colon Reunion will be in Biloxi, Mississippi February 4, 5, 6, 7 (or any combination of those dates you want - you can even stay over until the 8th which is Fat Tuesday or as we call it down here "Mardi Gras"!)
Biloxi is located between two of the best Mardi Gras cities in the US - Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans. There will be parades just about every night in both cities, plus there are casinos, top name shows, and beaches in Biloxi. Temps should be in the 60's or low 70s.
If you're short on cash, you're welcome to stay at my place, I have two bedrooms, a couch and plenty of floor space. And of special interest to the semi-colons, TWO bathrooms.
One of the most exciting things to do will be to have dinner with me aboard the mighty Coast Guard cutter DECISIVE - and get a complete tour, too.
Come one, come all - I'll pick you up at the airport (Gulfport, MS - GPT - is closest and cheapest with Delta, New Orleans - MSY - is usually the next cheapest and is 90 minutes away and Mobile - MOB - sometimes gets good fares and is about 45 minutes away). All I ask is that you RSVP to me so I know how many folks want to crash at my swinging bachelor pad and how many folks I need to get at what airport.
Should be a ball meeting all of the people we interact with on a daily basis! Looking forward to it!

Bob,
Sounds like the most fun anyone could have. Unfortunately, I will be bed bound at MD Anderson on Feb. 3 & 4 having my infusion of Oxaliplatin. Then it is on to nausea for the next 5 - 7 days, then actually, I begin feeling a wee bit better. I'll have to celebrate with ya'll (that's Texas talk) at the 2nd annual Semi- Colon Reunion. I was so looking forward to meeting everyone and comparing.....well, let's not compare anything!!!
Maybe I'll ring you all up one night and chat. Thanks for the invite, but I have to take care of business here so I can be there next time!
Many blessings for 2005. Love ya.

I am SO in...and I will be mooching at your place. Can't wait...long overdue vacation needed. We can have a Superbowl party!
Once flight set in stone (as opposed to the peanut butter reference), I'll let you know.
Thanks!

Of course I am to new to this to attend, but I do want to say how much I appreciate reading your comments, and "hearing" your positive attitude. My father's comments are quite similar to yours. On his PICC info sheet FAQs were given including how it might impact his sex life. His comments were what if you didn't have one in the first place? And when they mentioned an understanding partner he asked if one would be supplied? I do believe that it is that attitude more than anything else which will impact his cancer.

You're never too new! Come on down!! You are so right about your dad"s attitude; I always say that your attitude is the most powerful weapon you have in your cancer-fighting arsenal.
Hope to see you!

I understand tight finances. You're more than welcome to crash at my place if it would help you out (I'll just tell the Hooters Girls to crash at a friend's house - or maybe you'd prefer they stay. Of course it might get sorta cramped...!)
Anyway, all the best.

I am sure there will be a collective sigh of relief that ol' wet blanket on the party will not be attending. haha!! :-0scouty said:Yahoo...I'll be there and will stay with friends close by!!!!! This is too cool.

My juicer would probably be confiscated at the airport as a weapon of mass destruction (of cancer cells) and all my vials of supplements and herbs will no doubt set security into a frenzy ..... though how Aspaysia will smuggle her homegrown to the party will be a semi-colon feat....little do the authorities know how well versed we are in foreign objects in hidden places...... heehee....
My only gambling is done with regards to saying no to chemo and I would probably embarrass everyone if we went to one of the shows and I would have to get up and do the kickline with the chicks.....or would it be a mgic show...but that's nothing new since we all here have been sawed in half through our guts.....
But I wish I could be fly on the wall at SB's bach pad.
peace, emily who really is a party girl at heart!!0 -
Hey, I could not even smuggle a pair of nail scissors past security on my way to Canada last summer. Should have put them in my bag - the brown one beside my bellybutton (I no longer use the word navel/naval. It gives Spongeboy too much ammo)2bhealed said:I am sure there will be a collective sigh of relief that ol' wet blanket on the party will not be attending. haha!! :-0

Metinks for a single chap you have some other fruitfull agender in mind Sponger? I am quite convinced that all single ladies attending should be chapparoned--lol!!!!scouty said:Em,
You are not getting off that easy honey. I am probably going to drive and will be taking my juicer with me. So you can't use that excuse!!!!!
Wish I could be there mate--but then--you wouldn't be able to understand me lingo. I would need to bring Jen to interpret for me--lol!0 -
Hi Bob,
What fun!!! I'll have to let you know in a couple of weeks. My mother now lives with me and I can't leave her unattended for that long. However, I'm in the middle of finding caretakers, so maybe by then I can get away. I'll let you know.
Thanks,
Kay
If I can go, I'll be staying at one of the hotels.0 -
SpongeBob,
I wish I could go, but I will be recovering from surgery that happens on 1/14. I will be there in spirit.
My BD is Jan. 6, and My hubbies is Feb.11. We are hoping to take a cruise in March to celebrate our BD's and our recent 25th wedding anniversary. I will be 7 weeks post op. I will see the surgeon on Mon. and will ask if he thinks i will be ready to travel. We have never been on a cruise and have alot to celebrate this year. Besides me being so sick, my husband had a heart attack in May and had 2 trips to the cath. lab and 4 cardiac stents put in over 2 days. It's been a tough couple of years and it's not over yet. My husband is doing fine now.
I will be thinking of you all while you are frolicking in Mississippi. Have fun.0 -
Hey Spongebob, thanks so much for your hospitality. Don't think we will be able to make it this year. Scott's surgery will probably be scheduled for around that time. Too bad, his birthday is on Feb. 6th. You all have a great time. We'll be thinking of you.

Sorry Mate. Not this little brown duck. I have been doing a little quality control on the "crop" and it is sooo buzz worthy I could not possibly make it onto a plane. Those drug-siffing dawgs would tear me to pieces.spongebob said:AssP -

Besides which I would hate to show up empty handed. No party flavours left.
You will have to palm some contraband next time your crew gets lucky out there on the high seas.
Aspaysia who is getting the munchies.0 -
OOOO, I wish I could make it. I would dearly love to actually HUG you all, with real arms and everything! I am hoping maybe we can do something a little further away from Christmas (read..BROKE) ! Have a ton of fun for those of us who had to buy boilers and didn't plan properly (Teehee). Love and the Best of New Years to all,
Taunya0
