Hey everyone, I just turned 29 & have been diagnosed with stage 2B Breast Cancer, I'm feeling very much alone and isolated! Are there any other young survivors facing this?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I was diagnosed at age 37, and a good friend was 32 when we went through this 3 years ago. Check out the Young Survivors Coalition (I think their website is www.ysc.org). It's an organization for breast cancer survivors who were diagnosed before age 45, and you will find many of your age there. Hope this helps.

livn, I was first diagnosed at 28, then 36, then 40. Hang in there you are not alone, and you can survive the big C. Take things one step at a time. We all walk in the same shoes. My first hubby left me because I couldnt give him kids fast enough. You hang in there, I got the last laugh. I am still here and have awonderful 9 yr old. He is living in Buffalo, has had a heart attack at 34 and married an older women to be mothered. You hang in there ... we all need you.

    Hi,

I was diagnosed when I was 32. I'm now a 3 year survivor. Just like you, I was diagnosed with Stage 2B. Please don't feel alone. There are so many of us young survivors out here. If you want to chat, e-mail me at Noelleita@hotmail.com.

    Ciao.

Unfortunately you are NOT alone. I was diagnosed on my 31st birthday with stage 2 as well. I'm undergoing chemo with my second round set for tomorrow. You will get through this! I have found a local support group for young breast cancer survivors and that helped me to see it wasn't just me and that there are other younger women who have gotten through this. If I can be of any additional help, please let me know. My email is jordans11@comcast.net

You are not alone! I just turned 29 and was diagnosed 8 mos. ago at 28. It is very isolating having to go through this at such a young age. I have not found anyone yet as young as me. I have attended a few support groups and the closest person in age was 59. Needless to say we had very different situations. I was also diagnosed at 2b with a mastectomy, chemo and radiation. I am new to this message board, but I think we could be a good support for one another.

    Hi Livina,
I know exactly how you feel, I am 24 and was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer on May 24th 2004. I went through 8 rounds of chemo and a bilateral mastectomy... It was and sometimes still is lonely a times, especially being so young. I just finnished my chemo and will be going for reconstruction on Jan. 11th 2005. Please don't feel alone. There are many women out there like us and infact you will soon realize you are a part of a very exclusive sisterhood of young survivors!
Please e-mail me any time! Lets chat...

    Hi Livna!!

There's definitely a support group for our age bracket. I was dx @ 28 and was the youngest patient my onco has. If you ever need to chat feel free to email. Take care and God bless!
