Great News
I wanted to let you know that my mom had her follow up today and she got fabulous results!!! She had a CAT Scan, chest scan, liver tests and blood tests and they all showed no evidence of disease.
My mom was diagnosed with Stage III, with 4/20 lymph nodes positive in January 2003 - she had two local recurrences following this. (one in February and one in June).
It is very bittersweet posting this, given that so many of my friends on this website have had to share their setbacks lately. But, I think it is extremely important for everyone out there to share in our good news - especially those who have received news recently of recurrences - not only can you beat this awful disease once - you can beat it many times !
I know that hearing positive stories is what has kept me, and my entire family, strong and positive during this terrible ordeal.
I think of everyone often, even if I do not post often.

Good attitude, Judy - Time to start heading out of the valley and get on up that peak!grandma047 said:Hi Vanessa, I've been fighting this recurrence since January, 2004 when I was dignosed with this recurrence. Stories like yours give me hope, even thought I'm going through the valley now. Thanks for sharing it.

Vanessa,
I am so very happy for your mom and you. I know the relief that comes with the tests come back showing no evidence of disease. Congratulations.
I am getting ready to head to MD Anderson for treatment for my recurrance and try some new drugs that were not available at my diagnosis 2 years ago. Stories like your mom's tell us all that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we can make it there.
Thanks for sharing your good news.
