Mom's Blood Test

My mom's CA-125 went from over 3,000 before her surgery a month ago to 23 after surgery and one round of chemo. My Mom's cancer was diaganosed as IIB last month. Today was her second chemo session and the doctor's office called her during it to tell her about her blood test!! Her hair really started falling out about a week ago. She has a ton of scarves and hats and a wig. I think she actually looks prettiest without any of them on. Of course, she thinks I'm lying but she seems to be handling the hair loss pretty well. Just wanted to update you, especially since I had something positive to share. I hope all of you are doing well.

Wow-that's an enormous drop in her CA-125 level!

Losing my hair wasn't too traumatic, but losing my eyelashes and brows let too much wind-borne dust get in my eyes, and I really hated that!

Thank you for sharing the good news with us, and I hope your mom continues to do so well.

Groundeffect-I saw your picture on your personal web page. I told my mom that the two of you look alike!

I sure hope that's a good thing! It would be nice if more board participants would post a picture - we could all know what we look like. Maybe you could post a picture of you and your mom? There are a lot of family pictures in the personal web pages.

I agree, I would love to see some pictures or at least create a webpage. I enjoy reading everyones individual story and hope.

I have mine out there and extra pictures and favorite verses. I have a full family picture and then a closer up picture with my three children taken last christmas with my hair coming back.

Now I am bald again with no eyebrows or lashes. the lashes are the hardest to go without as my eyes now seem to be so dry and itchy.

Well just wanted to chime in with groundeffect about the pictures.
