Praise & Thanks to God~Bert Remains NED
The subject title says it all...just got back from oncologist and Bert's three month after chemo CT/PET continue to show NED!!!! I cannot tell you all how truly happy I am and so grateful to God and Dr. Lenz and to all of you for your oncoing support and prayers...so far, so good. Next check will be in three months. CEA rose just a tad (from 4.4 to 5.2) but Dr. Lenz is not concerned as Bert has been bouncing back and forth between 5.0 and 9.0 since this whole fiasco began and the rise was so minimal that in essence, and I quote here, "there really is no change" (words that bring music to my ears
)Just had to share this news with you all because each and every one of you are my extended family and we share both good and bad news with each other. Besides, I think it's the good news that keeps us all going.
Well, I gotta go. Doing prep work myself today for tomorrow's colonoscopy so I feel kind of "crappy" right now....no punn intended
If you will recall, they found pre-cancerous polyps (three of them) last year so the doc wants me back every year until they find nothing. Hopefully, it will be nothing this year. Gotta see this through guys but hey, after tomorrow morning, I'll bring out the bubbly and celebrate.
Lots of hugs,
Monika in Southern California who is happy as can be but a little irritated right now...gotta gooooooooooo

Monika,
That is truly awesome!!! I can absolutely relate to your feelings as I was just on this same high last week when my Dad's 3 month scans showed NED. The most beautiful words I'd heard since June. I can also relate to how you are feeling today as I just had my colonoscopy on October 22nd. The day after my birthday so I didn't even get birthday cake on my birthday. I had to eat jello instead. I'm sure you'll do fine tomorrow. Again, great news and I'm so happy for both of you.
