My mom started her first round of treatment today. They are giving her gleevac and cistoplatin. She is stage IV. Is there anyone that can share info with me that has taken these same treatments. Thanks

hi, I am mike, does your mom have non-small cell lung cancer? I have small cell lung cancer and am in remission two years last february. I had cisplatnum, but gleevac is new use for lung cancer because while I was in treatment it was new and I called the manufacturer to see if I could be a trial and they were not yet using it for lung cancer. The cisplatnum is good treatment if your mom can stand it. I couldn't and second cycle I went into blood pressure dropping and was hospitalized. I was then switched to carboplatnum, taxol, and vp-16. I also had radiation treatment. I am inoperable but doing fine. Well , I hope I have helped you some and may God bless you and your Mom. Mike0

Hi,My name is Trudi. I was diagnosed with nonsmall cell adenocarcinoma in 01-04 I under went surgery, radiation and chemo. The chemo Cisplatin caused me to experience pregnancy like symptoms.Nausea, vomiting, motion sickness and loss of appetite.I craved salty foods and drank citrus juice. I also underwent VP-16 and Taxotere treatment.I will keep you both in my prayers, stay strong. May Gods' Blessings be with You both,Trudi0
