what are the normal limits of exposure to radiation in the neck and throat areas

    Hi detourdan, I do not know the exact limits of radiation to neck and throat areas. There is a point when your radiologist says no more radiation can be given no matter what. Dosages are different depending on what radiation is for, kind of cancer, how big the tumor, etc. I've had radiation in my head and neck twice and may need it again, don't know yet if I can receive it or not, waiting on what doctors say. If you are going to have radiation and have not started yet, you also need to talk to your dentist so that he can do something to protect your teeth. Soemtimes it affects your salivary glands and you end up with dry mouth. All other effects of radiation go away a few months after you finish your treatment.
